No Offence! Early Intervention in the CJS - The Women's Way

18th November 2014 - The Priory Street Centre, York

Conference brief

Early intervention for women in the Criminal Justice System is an economical and effective solution to reducing the overall number of women in the CJS as well as preventing the inter-generational nature of offending.

Methods used by gender specific women’s organisations in reducing offending behaviour amongst women already entrenched in the Criminal Justice System have demonstrated positive outcomes around employment, financial capabilities, relationships, confidence and social inclusion. Early intervention includes involvement at both an early stage as well as an early age.
The conference will examine the need for early intervention with women in the Criminal Justice System, igniting a discussion around multi-agency, community, alternative and preventative solutions.
