E-Learning IOM Platform

About the E-Learning IOM Platform (ELP)

Integrated Offender Management (IOM) as a strategic framework approach has brought together many different approaches and schemes in the last few years. Much has been learnt about how such an approach can contribute to reducing offending amongst the most difficult of offending populations prioritised by local areas. The Home Office has commissioned a piece of work which aims to bring together all the current knowledge about emerging practice to help support local practices, share knowledge and create a repository of ideas for mutual benefit. The more YOU can take part in this initiative the more the collective story of IOM will grow.

The aims of the IOM Workforce Development Programme are to:

  • Increase IOM awareness at all levels

  • Improve workforces’ IOM-related knowledge and skills

  • Contribute to the development of an agreed vision of IOM locally

  • Embed and communicate that vision within relevant organisations

  • Assist in the effective and efficient management systems for offenders

This e-learning platform will contribute to this by:

  • providing learning materials to meet the above aims

  • constructing a curriculum to ensure coverage of all key IOM-related elements

  • providing background materials to inform policy and practice

  • providing an E-Learning Platform to communicate and disseminate the programme

  • providing toolkits to inform best practice
