The Queen's Birthday Honours List 2010 has been announced, with an impressive tally of current and former NOMS staff and stakeholders awarded.
Chief Executive Officer Michael Spurr said:
“I would like to congratulate all of those whose professionalism and dedication has been rewarded. To be recognised the Queen's Birthday Honours List is a fantastic achievement for anyone and brings enormous credit to them and the organisation.”
The awards are as follows:
Commander of the British Empire (CBE)
Pat Baskerville, Head of Offender Safety, Rights & Responsibilities Group. Pat has made an outstanding contribution to the development of the criminal justice system within the UK and overseas.
Order of the British Empire (OBE)
Mary Archer, Chief Officer, Essex Probation AreaAs Chief Officer for Essex Probation Area since 2003 Mary has transformed the organisation to one that is delivering excellent probation services.
Sharon Berry, Chief Executive, Storybook Dads; For the contribution to reducing re-offending by maintaining family ties, improving literacy and bringing associated social and financial benefits to society as a whole.
Lori Chilton, Head of NOMS Reducing Reoffending Policy Group. For Services to public protection and the reduction of reoffending.
Robert Mullen, Governor, HMP Lindholme.For 26 years of outstanding service to HM Prison Service.
Member of the British Empire (MBE)
Stephen Barkby, Manager F, HMP Featherstone;For his charitable work and work within the local community.
Alan Farrer, Principal Officer, HMP Haverigg;For services to HM Prison Service, and to the wellbeing of staff and prisoners.
Margaret Flint, Senior Administrative Officer, West Yorkshire Probation Board;For services to public protection work and support to senior managers.
Margaret Greenway, lately Commissioning Resourcing Manager, Kent Probation; For services to the delivery of positive outcomes for offenders through the use of volunteers.
Anne Hanley, lately Senior Probation Officer, HMP Buckley Hall; For services to HM Prison Service and the Community.
Paul Marsh, lately Principal Officer, HMP Canterbury;For services to the resettlement of offenders integrated with community and voluntary sector involvement.
Steve Reeves, IMB Member, HMYOI Brinsford;For services to Independent Monitoring Boards (IMBs) and to the National Council for IMBs.
Elizabeth Robb, Principal Officer, HMP Wakefield;For 32 years service to the criminal justice sector.
Robert Roper, Salvation Army Chaplain, HMP Grendon;For an outstanding contribution to prisons in the UK and overseas.
John Weightman, IMB Member, HMP & YOI Castington;For services to the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) at HMP & YOI Castington and to the National Council for IMBs.
John White, Senior Officer, HMP Frankland;For voluntary service to the Prison Service Charity Fund.
